The fable is a story about an ant and a grasshopper. The ant was very hard-working for storing the food for the winter. But the grasshopper was very lazy. It just sang and laughed at the ant. When the winter comes, the grasshopper didn’t have any food to eat because it didn’t store food in summer. The ant had plenty of food since it worked hard in summer. And the story of Tom and George is similar with the Fable but the ending is totally difficult. George works as hard as the ant and Tom works as lazy as the grasshopper. George works hard for the future. But Tom left his family to have fun. Since Tom is charming and handsome, he can borrow money from his friends easily. Also, Tom blackmails his brother George. So George hates Tom very much. At the end of the story, Tom becomes a rich man because he married with a rich woman. But George just earns a few of money. So Tom has a better life than George. In my opinion, I agree with Maugham because communication is very important in our society. We cannot works all the time. We need to have a good relationship with our friends or the others. You will not know the others may help you a lot in the future. For example, if you have a good relationship with your boss, you will have more opportunity to prove yourself since your boss may give more tasks to you. In my experience, my cousin Tommy is friendly and charming. He always helps people and has a very good relationship with the others. Although he is lazy, he finds a good job since his friend gives him that job. I think communication with the others is more important than hardworking. If you don’t know how to communicate with the others, you may loss many opportunities.

    Compare with Aesop and Maugham, I agree with Maugham. Because this world is very unfair. Nowadays, many people work very hard, but they get nothing. You needs to have a chance to prove yourself. Just like George, he worked hard for his whole life, but he still poor. So I think if you are smart, you do not need to be hardworking.

  The story is about Tom and George. Their relationship is brother. Tom is a lazy guy, and he just want to have fun. But he is a handsome guy. George is a hardworking man. Tom left his family and went to find his lifestyle. When he didn't have money, he will borrow from his friends or George. But after George didn't give him money, Tom blackmail George. This made Geoge very angry. But at the end, Tom became a rich man since he married with a old rich woman. George was very angry about that. Because even he worked so hard, he still poor. But Tom didn't work, he became rich. It was unfair.

The ant doesn’t give any food to grasshopper. Lastly, the grasshopper died.  In this story, we can know that if you work hard, you can have a better life.

  After I read the story, I think that it is different with the Aesop fable. Although the beginning of both stories are very sammilar, the ending is totally different. Tom just like the grasshopper, he likes to have fun and don't like to work. And George just likes the ant, he works hard for his whole life. Tom left his family and his job, and went to find his lifestyle. He just like the grasshopper, singing all over the summer, and did't prepare for the winter. He plays for the whole life and don't perpare for the future. George just like the ant, work hard for the future. But the ending is different. Tom has a better life than George, since Tom married with a rich woman. And he didn't need to work while George works very hard. In this story, it told me that this world is very unfair, but we still need to work hard because not all people as lucky as Tom.

I like the ant more. Because it will think more about the futrue and it work very hard while the grasshopper was singing in the field. The ant will alive in the winter because it stored many food in the summer. And the grasshopper will die in the cold winter. I like the ant because it work hard for the future.

I think that the idea of friendship is alive and well. In tha article, there are many research can prove that most of the people think that friendship is very important to them. Friendship is to enhance feelings of warmth, trust, love, and affection between two people. People will share their personal lives and feelings with their friends, such as failure at work, terminal illness and sexual activities. There are no striking contradictions between people's descriptions of actual friendship, their belief about friendship in general, and their perception of the rules that apply to these relationship. Although friendship is alive but many people still think that they are lonely.
